nned Parenthood Launches ‘Social Change Initiative’ to Teach Parents How to Educate Children About Sex, Including Masturbation, Homosexuality

(CNSNews.com) – The Planned Parenthood Federation of America is signaling its intention to dominate the national sex education agenda.
Specifically, Planned Parenthood's Web site announced the group is preparing to launch a nationwide “social change initiative” to end the “stigma and shame about sex” in American culture.
The project aims to teach parents and caregivers how to educate children about sex -- from birth. And it recommends telling teenagers about masturbation, oral sex and “where to go for help to prepare to be sexually active.”
The “Real Life. Real Talk” initiative began as a pilot program in communities in Maine, New York, Connecticut, and Arizona between 2004 and 2008, according to a report about the initiative that is for sale on the project’s Web site.
Now Planned Parenthood is preparing to launch the program nationwide, with funding from donors and private groups, including The Ford Foundation.
“Real Life. Real Talk" is based on the belief that reducing the shame and stigma attached to sex also reduces a barrier to sexual and reproductive health services, eventually reducing the rates of sexually transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS, and unintended pregnancies.
The initiative is geared to parents and caregivers of children aged 8 to 18. In the four pilot states, parents were invited to attend workshops where they received Planned Parenthood’s guide to “Sex Ed for Parents, Real Life. Real Talk." The events were held at different community venues, including schools, churches, social services facilities and libraries.
The "Real Life. Real Talk" guide, offered in English and Spanish, is tailored to specific groups of parents and caregivers, including grandparents raising their grandchildren, “queer parents,” and parents of children in elementary school.”
A "Parent Tips" section of the "Real Life. Real Talk" Web site says children are never too young to learn about sex. It states, in part:
“A child’s sexuality, sexual feelings, and sexual attitudes develop from the moment of Birth -- even before a child can speak. In fact, children start learning about sexuality through observation of family interaction and surroundings. When you don’t talk with your children about sexuality, you may give them the message that there is something wrong with sexuality and that it is not a topic you’re willing to discuss.”
“You can begin teaching your young child the basics of sexuality — anatomy, reproduction, sexual orientation, personal safety, feelings, relationships — as well as your own values,” reads the document. “As children grow and mature, they will be more interested in details about pregnancy and birth, the changes of puberty, etc.”
Another section, entitled "Conversation Starters," tells parents to be “factual" and to "clear up slang” when answering questions. It offers examples of children's questions, including slang for female masturbation and oral sex.
One talk-to-your-child tip includes the following bulleted item: “Take your child to the drugstore and point out the pads, tampons, condoms, etc. Take your teen to a clinic for contraception and exams, or let your teen know where to go for help to prepare to be sexually active.”
The Web site’s “Teen Reality” tab includes videos, including a “Don’t Dance with Death” video written by high school students in McAllen, Texas. It features a “witch” giving young girls a potion and a condom before they go to a high school dance. One of the girls then gives the condom to the boy with whom she is dancing.
The report on "Real Life. Real Talk" says the initiative will be marketed nationwide through TV public service announcements, print ads, radio, posters, bus shelters and other promotional materials such as T-shirts.
According to its annual report for Fiscal Year 2008-2009, Planned Parenthood’s income from government grants and contracts totaled $363.2 million, up for $349.6 million for the previous fiscal year.

Your comment about "blowing it up" is hardly righteous.

VOTE for pro-life candidates that will not support this organization with OUR tax dollars. We must hold our representatives accountable for their votes, and remind them that we want the government out of our private lives! Planned Parenthood would like you to believe they are "helping" educate all of us in having healthier sexual lives. All that has happened since the great "sexual revolution"and introduction of contraception, is more STD's, more infertility, more babies born out of wedlock, more abortions, and more broken families! Some record!

Funny how there was less bad behavior when people had the good grace to be ASHAMED of bad behavior. And, sorry to say, having sex when you're fifteen, having sex with multiple partners before adulthood, repeatedly getting and treating STDs and having abortions as a form of birth control are BAD BEHAVIOR.
But, let there be no shame in that. Next, let's take away the shame of committing armed robbery, then homicide. Why feel bad about anything! Because, after all, it's all about FEELING, is it not? Ahhhh, they joy of "good self-esteem."
Good self-esteem, unearned, equals narcissism. Thank you, American Left. You're making great strides - you are people who actually make our country worse, not better, and most importantly, you FEEL GOOD about it.

I think that the parents should be teaching their children about what the bible says about sex.
After all, God has the last say in the matter.
Not what man thinks.
There is a way that seems right, but the end thereof is death.
Children should be taught about family and living godly at home, not at school or by the government.
Every man and woman will have to stand before the God of the universe, and give account of everything done in this mortal body.

PP is the ACORN of the world of sex. Neither organization believes in playing fairly. Both believe in using tax dollars to further their own agendas while proclaiming themselves to be non-partisan and each of these organizations is morally bankrupt.

MARGARET SANGER AND THE NAZIS
Few people today know that Margaret Sanger, the founder of the Pro-Choice Movement, and the founder of Planned Parenthood, was an admirer of Dr. Rudin, and published several of his articles. Sanger had a white-racist, Lothrop Stoddard, on her Board of Directors. Stoddard was the author of several anti-Semitic and white-supremacist books. He was a well-known admirer of Adolf Hitler, and an open supporter of the Nazis. Sanger herself was a eugenicist and neo-Malthusian.
“The most merciful thing that a family does to one of its infant members is to kill it.”

Thank you for knowing your history. Years ago i thought that Margaret Sanger was a heroine of a woman's right not to be having baby after baby she couldn't afford. Then I learned about her belief in eugenics and "getting rid of the undesirable people" and lost all respect for her and the organization she founded.

When will this include helping your child know that his/her DNA requires special education so that males will quickly feed into the gay community and skip socialization with the wrong one?
It should help insure that future males with the gay DNA will come from unions of those who are heterosexual in the same proportion as in the past?

I wonder if Planned Parenthood will teach kids & adults about the Dangers of "Full Body" Scans at Airports, when
no eye-protection is used from x-rays, plus x-rays can
cause "Cancers" & finally they'll be "endangered" with the real posssibilities--that they can be made Sterilized
to never have any Kids-! Nazi's used these same x-rays on Jewish women to destroy their Ovaries-! (Facts--WW-II)
Fact--today's X-ray techs wear a "Full-Body" lead apron,
but they also step-out of the x-ray room--when the X-ray
is shot-! (Ask any Dr, why a "Lead-Apron"-?) Because no-body want to be "Sterilized" w/o their permission-! Plus,
they don't want "Cancers" either-! How much is it worth--
to have over 4 million kids & adults--"Forced by their Govt" to take Full Body X-ray Scans--with "known-risks" of being "Sterilized"-!? Is Fed. Govt. lying to them-!?
(Shoe-Store X-rays were "Outlawed" from use during 1937-
1939, when AMA Doctors convinced Congress of the Dangers
these X-ray machines-! What makes you think the Dangers
no longer exist-!? (Some Govt Official said-So-!?)

Sex education should be taught by parents...delegating it to others, especially the government or values that are not Christian based are equivalent to "dancing with death". Where abstinence programs are implemented they show a much better track record. Where condoms and safe sex education programs are implemented there are documented detrimental 2nd and 3rd order affects. It all sounds good upfront...but the reality is that it is window dressing and doesn't cut to the issues. Abstinence is the answer...Ask God...he will answer.

Right on LovingMomAZ. You write with intelligence and wisdom, which from reading all the other post, seem to be lacking. I wish you well in your endeavors in rasing well educated young men and women.
What those other idiots don't realize is that when they condone and promulgate ignorance about their bodies, they loose a little be of their humanity.
Then, of all things, they hope that their God will give them a seat on his council for their piety. This I find quite hillarious, in that ignorance knows no bounds when stupid people want to hide their collective heads up their butts.

Who is condoning ignorance? The people who say that sex is great when practiced in its proper place (marriage) or those who say that it can be done anywhere, at any time, and with anyone? The first group has a set of moral guidelines that help them make this decision and you blast them for it. The second group is idiotic and you call them well educated. Question for you: Do you think that it is ok to have sex with another person when you are in a relationship with someone else? If yes, then you are an idiot and have not hope of sustaining a healthy relationship. If no, then you have a moral standard by which you practice sex. This also puts you in the same boat as those you call idiots because they have a moral standard for acting a certain way and so do you, only they are open about their morality where you are not.

I can't believe how many negative comments there are about this! I've been talking to my children about sex, their bodies, masturbation, puberty, etc. since they were old enough to ask questions. As a result, I have a teenager & a pre-teen who are aware of the world around them and have no problem asking my advice about anything and everything. Neither is yet sexually active, but my teenager recently asked if I would purchase condoms so he could practice putting them on. He said he'd rather know what he's doing than fumble around in the dark and possibly end up getting a girl pregnant or getting an STD. I had NO problem doing so; I would much rather know he's practicing safe sex than one day get a phone call from some irate father yelling at me that my son got his daughter pregnant! After all, no one can tell anyone else when it's the right time to start having sex (not even parent to child). That's a personal decision, but it's a decision that my son can make with intellligence because I've given him the tools necessary to do so. Grow up, people! Sex, and the ability to enjoy sex, is a vital part of the human species. Why would you think it better to keep your children ignorant??? Or is it that you don't want your children to realize how ignorant YOU are???

The disgust with Planned Parenthood and their agenda doesn't mean people are FOR keeping children ignorant and uneducated. It's not an either or proposition.
You can ABSOLUTELY disagree with their initiative COMPLETELY and still be for openess and educating children in sexuality, as you point out that you are with your children.
The problem is PPH's worldview is in fact ignorant to key spiritual truths about who we are which make their "education" misleading at minimum, destructive at worst, and foolish in total.
It is easy to see the problems within this initiative where the points could be easily listed and explained. The push back to this organization and this program isn't about being open and honest about sex with our children (everyone should be open and honest with their children about this topic which is in your face at every turn), its the content. Its the understanding and values on the subject that is the problem. There is a fundamental worldview disconnect that can't be argued on the post; you either see it and understand it, or don't.
If you can't see why people would have a problem with planned parenthood, perhaps you need to be more open minded and ask yourself why they is opposition against them (I know its hard to do so when comments expressing a different view of PPH's initiative than yours are crude and/or vulgar ). We are all imperfect, but we all stand to benefit trying to see if we can find truth in other's claims rather than trying to find reasons we're all idiots (that in fact is the easiest thing to do!).
Nobody with a healthy perspective on life would repress knowledge on the subject, but the last people on the planet I would want to teach my children about sex is Planned Parenthood.

In part you speak as an animal. The other part as a loving parent. Basically I agree it is the parent's responsibility and choice for sex education. The parent, not others. You generally state your position well.

How is it that I speak as an animal? Given that animals do not have the ability to speak, much less to reason, I find your statement quite confusing. I do agree that it's the parents responsbility, but I see PP's offering of workshops on how parents might deal with this responsiblity as simply another resource for those who find discussing sex and sexuality with their children difficult, embarassing, etc.

Please do not lump all conservatives and liberals with such a broad stroke. I am a conservative, yet I am constantly viewed as liberal simply because I am an Atheist, pro-choice, and support LGBT issues. A lesson I learned as a child is perhaps something that should be reviewed by all... do not assume because it only makes an a$$ of you and me. Instead look to each person to inform you of their character. After all, actions speak louder than words and I find it much more accurate to make decisions based upon an individual's actions and not some worthless generalities that do nothing more than continue to divide this nation.

You really need to look up what "conservative" really means. I did (because of this post by you) and I could not find where the beliefs you posted here are included in what a true conservative is. Maybe if you found a different affiliation to claim, you would not have an issue with folks saying your are a liberal.....which I am not saying you are but the facts just do not point to the "conversative" affiliation.

PP Covers up Incest
This article forcefully proves why we must SHUT THEM DOWN:
Woman Sues Planned Parenthood for Covering up Incest - Suffered Years of Abuse
- Fri Feb 20, 2009 12:15 EST
- Comments (0)
By Kathleen Gilbert
WARREN CO., Ohio, February 20, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A woman who suffered years of sexual abuse at the hands of her father filed a lawsuit today suing Planned Parenthood and five of its employees for refusing to report signs of abuse when she obtained an abortion, with the result that the abuse continued for another 1 1/2 years.
Prosecuting Attorney Brian Hurley told LifeSiteNews.com (LSN) that the Planned Parenthood employees "played ostrich" when the girl told them she was being raped.
"We believe that they ignored Denise’s cry for help ... and as a result she was sexually abused three times a week for a year and a half because they didn’t meet their duties to report," said Hurley.
Ohio law requires that Planned Parenthood employees report obvious signs of abuse.
Planned Parenthood has come under fire recently for a trend of failing to report sexual abuse and rape. In a project knows as the "Mona Lisa Project" UCLA student Lila Rose and her friend Jackie Stollar went undercover and videotaped PP employees conscientiously ignoring statutory rape. So far three different PP facilities have been caught covering up rape, which they were required by law to report to the authorities.
Denise, who is now 21, suffered sexual abuse by her father between the ages of 13 and 17. In 2004, when she was 16, Hurley says Denise’s father took her to the Mount Auburn facility of Planned Parenthood of Southwest Ohio to seek an abortion after he had impregnated her.
When questioned by Planned Parenthood, the girl allegedly said "that she had been forced to do things that she did not want to do."
The abuse ended when Denise’s father was arrested eighteen months after the Planned Parenthood visit, thanks to the intervention of the girl’s basketball coach. He was sentenced to five years in prison in 2006.
Hurley is convinced that Planned Parenthood will be brought to justice for its negligence.
"She tried to put an end to this abuse by informing a Planned Parenthood employee that she had been forced to have sex and to do things she did not want to do. Tragically for her, Planned Parenthood’s ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy was in full force," Hurley told the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Commentary on PP finances
I'll use this in my talk:
"December 16, 2010

"December 16, 2010
The latest annual report from Planned Parenthood (PP) for 2008-2009 is revealing on several fronts.
One, it’s the first annual report in recent years not to include actual numbers in several key categories: number of abortions, adoption referrals and prenatal services.
PP released a fact sheet on its 2008 activity in September showing an increase in abortions (from 305,310 in 2007 to 324,008 in 2008) and a sizable drop in adoption referrals (from 4,912 in 2007 to 2,405 in 2008). The 2007 report is found here.
Why PP would change reporting formats now is open to speculation. Perhaps the abortion numbers for 2009 were even higher, and the adoption referrals even lower. Unless it releases a fuller report in the future, we won’t know.
One trend worth noting is that in recent years as the amount of government money going into PP’s coffers increases (i.e. taxpayer funding), so does the number of abortions. Members of Congress are absolutely right to pursue a bill defunding this group, which is one of the nation’s leading perpetrators of abortion.
The 2009 report also highlights PP’s involvement in promoting sexually graphic sex education.
Page 7 features two high school-age students, one male and one female, putting a condom on a fake penis. Page 10 shows a coed high school-age class listing combinations of how different body parts can unite in intimacy. And, Page 6 promotes the work of two fashion designers who created designer condoms for a New York City premiere, sponsored by PP.
That’s what your tax dollars are supporting at Planned Parenthood. It’s time to defund.

PP just keeps stepping in it. All we have to do really is report. They commit slow suicide constantly. This is why they go crazy when we provide this data at their clinics.

PP's Finances
"Today, abortion giant Planned Parenthood released its 2008-2009 Annual Report.
Behind the colorful graphics and happy faces is a stark number: Planned Parenthood received $363 million in government grants and contracts from 2008 to 2009 alone, all at the expense of the U.S. Taxpayer and the lives of unborn babies.
How many lives are we talking? 324,008 unborn human lives destroyed in one year. How many adoption referrals? 9,433.
And that number of lives ended and women wounded will continue to rise as the amount of federal funding they receive continues to rise:

Going into 2011, the funding level is set to go up should Congress pass the latest Omnibus Appropriations bill headed for a vote in the next few days:
- $327 million is allocated for the Title X Family Planning Program – which provides funding to Planned Parenthood. This is a $44 million increase over the last four years.
- $710 million is allocated for international family planning/reproductive health which provides funding to organizations such as Planned Parenthood that promote and perform abortion overseas. This marks a massive $270 million increase over the last four years.
Add those two numbers together, and we’re at over a billion. Speaking of abortions overseas, Planned Parenthood notes in its report:
- “In Kenya, we worked with advocates who developed a grassroots campaign to increase public support for decriminalizing abortion.” (page 20)
- “In Latin America and the Caribbean, we offered training for health center security and tracking groups hostile to women’s health and family planning.” (page 20)
- “In northern Nigeria, we overcame the reluctance of a large religious organization to introduce basic reproductive health care through its more than 100 health centers. Now, more than 60 of those centers offer birth control and refer women to private medical providers if they need a safe abortion.” (page 21)
The solution is clear and simple: it’s time to Stop Abortion Funding and Defund Planned Parenthood.
We made major pro-life gains last month, but they mean absolutely nothing if we do not turn them into serious legislative gains for the unborn.
Be a voice for the voiceless unborn. Join the fight here."

bigmaude Friday, December 17th at 10:04AM EST (link)I downloaded the report. Two things stuck out, a memorial to Goerge Tiller. What’s wrong Tara, not enough babies dying to satisfy your thirst for blood. May God help this depraved, sick country.
